In this tutorial we will briefly explain how you can upload an existing world to your Minecraft server.

Find a world

Single player world

If you want to copy over a world from single player, you have to open the following directory.

C:\Users\YOUR WINDOWS USER\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\saves

World from the Internet

Below are two example websites where you can find Minecraft worlds.

Upload the world to the server

Navigate to your Minecraft server under My servers. There you will find the appropriate FTP access data. If you do not know how to use FTP, please read: How do I connect to my FTP server?

After connecting with FTP, upload the world to the root directory of your server.

It is important that you upload your world into the root directory (/) and not into a subdirectory.

Activate the world

Lastly, go back to the G-Portal.us web interface. Navigate to My servers, your Minecraft server, and to the Basic Settings tab.

There you will have to change the world name field to match the name of the world you uploaded. In our example, we enter BunteWelt and save it.

Finally, start your server again and your new world will be loaded.
