CSGO: How do I get Steam Workshop maps on my server?

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive supports Steam Workshop maps. This means that you don't need to keep the maps up-to-date and that everything is managed by the respective workshop creators. If a new version of a map comes out, it will be automatically installed on the server.

Activate Workshop

Request web API key

To activate the Steam Workshop, a so-called Web-API-Key has to be requested first. This can be done on this page: http://steamcommunity.com/dev/apikey

In the "Domain Name" field you have to enter your own domain. But if you do not have one or you do not know what that is, then you can just type g-portal.com. Afterwards, tick the box to accept the terms of use. Once you're done, it should look something like this:

Confirm this by clicking on the Register button.

Enter web API key on your CS:GO server

Now this Web API key must be entered in the web interface. This can be done with the following steps:

  1. Navigate to your CS:GO server in the web interface.
  2. Switch to the "Maps" tab. without
  3. Enter and save the Web-API-Key.

Adding workshop maps

Once the web API key has been entered and saved, you can search for maps directly in the web interface and download them. Simply enter the search term on the same page below and click on "Search":

The maps are then displayed and can be added by clicking on the "Add" button:

The map will then be added to the server and will be downloaded the next time the server is restarted. The command changelevel <Mapname> can be used to switch to the map.

Removing workshop maps

To remove workshop maps from your server, simply click on the "delete" button in the web interface and the map will be deleted from the server:

That's it. With these simple steps, you can set up Steam Workshop maps on your g-portal.us CS:GO server. :-)
