I'd like to use my server to play Project Eden but it's not in the drop down list. Is there a way to set it up? Thanks!
Hi, you upload it in a similar fashion as a mod
Thanks so much! That'll help bunches. As soon as I figure out mods lol
wow it's that easy? thanks a lot! I wasn't aware of that
The mods files needs to be placed in a folder, under /Content/Mods/
the easiest way is to install it locally to your pc, then upload via ftp from x:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\383120 to /Content/Mods on the server"
Ok, I did this, but when I go to basic settings the scenario name doesn't show up in the drop menu. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Do I need to rename the folder?
Total waste of time. Either I'm too stupid to figure this out or someone's not understanding what I'm trying to do. *sigh* /rant off
If I deleted one of the Scenarios and renamed Project Eden to that name, would I then be able to select that scenario to play and end up in the right scenario? I followed what the tech told me and still can't access it and still don't have admin rights when I do go in to see if the game is set up right. I'm not sure whether to find a different server company or keep struggling to figure this one out without much help. It's very frustrating.
Empyrion is rather .. finicky, it took me ages to work out how to do stuff, and i find software intuitive... let me try to set up a server and i can report back to you
I usually am very able to figure things out but this one is just plain dodging me at every point. Thank you
okay, got it sorted - make sure you have deleted all your saved files
1. upload from \steamapps\workshop\content\383120\1742662471 to Content\Scenarios\
2. rename 1742662471 to Project Eden.
3. load the dedicated.yaml file in configurations files and change 'Default Multiplayer' to 'Project Eden'
4. Restart the server
(i am having trouble access teh gportal page at the moment, lots of solar activity destroying my net, but its the bottom file in the configuration tab)
The dedicated.yaml was already changed and saved. The scenario file is already renamed to the same name as in the dedicated.yaml and saved. I had also already deleted the save and cache files from the server.
The tech from the second ticket I put in told me to remove the files I'd put in and zip them and put them back. Do I need the file in the mods folder as well as the scenario folders?
okay, i started a new server changed nothing except in the yaml
Srv_Name: 'Project Eden'
Srv_Description: 'Welcome to DCA Gamers'
CustomScenario: 'Project Eden'
I jsut added u to the perms onthis server, have a look
Perms? not real sure what that is lol
I also don't know what the Telnet is
This is what I have in my config file.
Srv_Name: '*Dhar Empyrion'
Srv_Description: 'Welcome to Dhar Empyrion'
CustomScenario: 'Project Eden Alpha 11.5'
permissions, i have given u access to my server panel
so the only difference is i set a new server up, send me your donation link?
Project Eden Alpha 11.5
is this the name in the scenario folder?
because i renamed mine to Project Eden
I set this new server up also last night. I just don't seem to be able to make it work. I'll have to do some searching to know what you mean about server panels. I didn't have to do all this junk to get my conan server set up and running smooth.
My donation link?
that's what I made all of the file names for that scenario. I had done what you did earlier and it wasn't working so I changed it to the name the creator calls it on steam.
you will have two Empyrion servers atm?
ok, if this is new, delete the server and install a new one. and then follow what i did exactly, i think its coming down to naming.
The tech from support is still messing with it so I hate to change anything til he's done.
