Miscreated server failing to use published mods

  • I am at my wits end here. The gportal support does not seem to understand that this issue is in fact on their end and I dont know where else to turn. So here we go as I will explain in detail.

I have a miscreated server that was fine running any mod just fine for the first 2-3weeks. Then about 4 days ago now then server will not download any mods and install them. I have even been working with another gportal customer who has not had any issues with his server and in fact I even tried to load the mod that he uses on his gportal server and it did not work on my server. The logs show an error code 2 and when looking into the workshop log it show that my server is not even connecting to the content servers to down load the mod. Like I said I have tried a handful of mods that I know to be working on every other server but nothing will work on mine. As I have said this wasnt an issue until about 4 days ago and since using the mod that the other gportal server guy uses all the time it wont even work on mine. I will attach some logs below.

The below log is from the server log

Then this is the log from the workshop log

  • To add to this, I've been trying to help T3X out, we've been through his config, the way his mod is published on Steam Workshop, whether it's publically viewable or not. I've also succesfully installed his mod on another server of mine that I spun up for testing. We've also tried mods that work on my current modded server with g-portal, and those have failed on his g-portal server. It would seem to be an issue with his server being unable to pull the mod from Steam.

  • yes my cfg is done correctly. Again my server is the only server not downloading mods! I have tried Lokkis mod that he uses on his server all the time and he has updated it and everything all the time but on my server it will not work. Shown in the logs my server is not connecting to the content server to even download the mods....

[2019-04-24 00:59:38] [AppID 299740] Update canceled: No servers found for depot 299740, manifest 7222931546101277066 (No connection to content servers)

  • I can verify that T3X has tried both the basic settings page method listing just 1717657503 and manually editing the config file to add steam_ugc=1717657503 with success in neither case. He's also tried with several other mods that are verified as working, including the one I run on my server.

The relevant lines in the startup log are:

<00:59:38> [STEAM] Download request made for content id: 1717657503
<00:59:38> [STEAM] Download failed for content id: 1717657503, code: 2
<00:59:38> [STEAM] This server will be forced to restart in 60 seconds.

That's the correct ID for his mod, that same ID worked when I tried it. What's the "code: 2" portion of the error referencing?

  • Ok for anyone who asks anything. I have done it all if you can think of it, it has been done. Just to try one last damn time I just deleted ever file from the server via the FTP and reinstalled a so its a BRAND NEW SERVER! I logged in fine to make sure everything was deleted and then exited. I then stopped the server and added Lokki's mod that he uses on his own gportal server and nothing server will not load and will not download his working mod.
