How To: Change Engram Points Per Level

  • UPDATE 2: Thanks to gportal_092373 we have a working code now. Check it in the quote and everything should be good to go!

UPDATE: So after playing around with the numbers it seems like 5 is the only value that will work for some reason. This will result in your character actually having LESS skill points at max level then without changing it. So until we can figure out what's causing other values to not work I wouldn't do this to your server just yet.

These are easy steps to change the amount of engram points you receive per level. I haven't tried it with any other value besides 5, so if you change the value and it doesn't work then that is your issue.

    1. Connect to your server via FTP (Filezilla is a good one to use). To connect you need to open Filezilla. You will see "Host,Username,Password,Port" with space for you to enter your information. To get your specific server information, click My Servers-->Your Server-->Status Tab. Scroll down and you can find this info under "Access Data"
    2. Enter the info and press Quickconnect.
    3. On the right side of the FTP app, navigate to ShooterGame-->Saved-->Config-->WindowsServer. Here you will find a file called "Game.ini".
    4. Right click the file and hit Edit/View. Paste the code that is included at the bottom of this post in a quote. Save it when your done. It will then ask if you want to reupload the file and overwrite, choose YES.
    5. Now navigate to the folder for every additional grid your server has. For example ShooterGame-->Saved-->10_A1-->Config-->WindowsServer
    6. Do the same exact thing for every Game.ini file in these grid folders.
    7. Navigate to ShooterGame-->Config
    8. View/Edit the file DefaultGame.ini
    9. Right underneath where it has the first batch of code for [/script/shootergame.shootergamemode], paste the same code that is included in this post.
    10. Stop your server completely and all additional grids.
    11. Start them up 1 by 1 and everything should be working correctly.

If you can't figure this out or need some additional help leave a post here and I'll try to help you out.

  • i know i was using the adminconsole to test and i started getting 5,6,7,8 points per level, around 40 i think, went up every 10 or so levels.

Weird I have a character currently at level 21 and have 100 skill points which is correct.

I've tried this method exactly as outlined, but every time it puts my skill points in the negative.

Is this going on a fresh character and trying to go from level 1 to 2?

  • Yes, I've tried creating fresh characters as well. When done on a fresh character, it only gives 1 point per level.

Unfortunately I wouldn't be able to know what's going wrong without seeing the files. If you followed the directions then it should be working correctly. If you're comfortable sending your FTP info I can look into it for you. Send me a private conversation though about it if you are. If not, then that's okay I'm sure they will have an option to change it in the control panel soon enough.

I've sent you an email/PM on here to see if we can't hash this out together. I greatly appreciate your willingness to help. Just let me know what info you need and how to get it to you, I'll gladly send it over. I've been able to get the stat multiplier to work just fine and where I need it, but no luck on the engram points. Once that's fixed, I think we'll be in the clear! Assuming the lvl cap for freeports was fixed at last.

  • Now I haven't done ATLAS yet...my graphics cards don't do well with it, it seems ;(

From what I've seen from other threads though, wouldn't the same commands in ARK work for ATLAS though? Just wondering if that's true or not HailFrail?

Weird, on my files the ClampHomeServerXPLevel setting is located in Game.ini in WindowsServer, where as in the DefaultGame.ini I dont have any of those settings. After about an hour of messing with the two, trying to get it to work, I cant seem to get it to work properly.

  • Yes you have 100 points at 21 which is more than vanilla. and your curve will give you 500 at level 101.

Vanilla has several more skill points at 101 than yours does. You have completely nerfed skill points at high level.

  • Question which i hope is still on topic.

Is there a command ingame or however to GIVE skill points?

i ask because I have folks that will be missing out on these new Skill Point increments because they are at a high level and dont want to reroll just to get to these new points. So I was wanting to give them Skill Points that they would have missed out on because Im a nice guy lol.

If you want to private message me I can try to help through your FTP. This is hard to know what people are doing wrong without actually seeing the files.

Seems like an easy fix, does anyone know what the proper skill points at max level are?

All you have to do to take benefit of the skill point change is respec your character. Put all your stat points back in and it will give the correct amount of skill points.
